The variety of grapes we have that produce is unknown to us. Years ago, shortly after they were planted, the yard had to be dug up for septic system repairs right through the grapes and they were covered with dirt. The farm wasn’t an orchard yet, and the thought was that new vines would be purchased at a later date. Several years passed and their name was forgotten. The grapes had other ideas. Over time, a number of them sprouted up through the dirt and rubble and so we have grapes! We don’t know what they are, but we have them. They make a pretty light pinkish purple jelly although they seem a little tart for fresh eating. It really is awesome what nature can do!
